WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE WELLNESS CLASSES AND THE PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSIONS?
The wellness classes have been put together to educate and motivate its students and families in developing physical, mental, emotional and social skills. By engaging actively in the different classes the children can work through their unique physical challenges experienced in their schools, home and community environments. Through the classes the students strengthen the knowledge, awareness and connection between stretch and strengthening while creating strong bodies. The programs have the end goal of fostering general mental fitness, physical wellbeing, mind-body integration and overall movement awareness.
The wellness classes are not covered by insurance.

The physiotherapy sessions are required when a child presents with a medical need that interferes with their development, mobility and/or independence. Physiotherapy is also needed when a child encouters an injury, a medical condition and/or presents with developmental delay that interferes and affects their physical function. Physiotherapy is covered by most insurances. See below to know which insurances we accept.

CAN I GET REIMBURSED FOR MY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES IF CASA CARE IS OUT OF NETWORK FOR MY INSURANCE?
If we are out of network with your insurance be aware that most patients can get reimbursement for their treatments by their insurances. You should be able to print claim forms off your insurance company’s website, and send it in with the needed receipts and treatment codes that will be provided upon request at the clinic. The amount of reimbursement is completely dependent on your insurance plan.  Therefore, we cannot guarantee any reimbursements. If you call your insurance company to inquire, you should ask about reimbursement for “out-of-network physical therapy” expenses.

All initial and follow up consultations are 60 minutes long. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to the appointment we will require to reschedule your appointment, as we will not be able to able to extend the visit time due to other arranged appointments following your session.  If you elect to participate from our classes in a private individual manner you can choose from 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY CHILD'S INITIAL PHYSIOTHERAPY APPOINTMENT?
During your first visit we will go over your concerns as well as your child's past medical history and your expectations-goals for the intervention. We will then determine the type of testing that will best suit your child's needs and proceed to assess your child. Once we are done we will discuss and structure a plan of care if intervention is required. If intervention is not recommended we will provide you with input on ways to continue to move forward.
Please expect the appointment to be at least 1 hour long. If you have an infant let us know your child's meal and/or nap schedule for us to help you find the best appointment time.
