Casa Care Preparatory

At Casa Care Preparatory we have gathered a set of classes for children from birth to 12 years old, with or without a diagnosed movement condition. The different classes can help them strengthen their overall movement, core strength, coordination, balance, posture and developmental skills for better participation from community activities, daily routines, and sports. Among the benefits from participating from the different programs are the following:

1-Improve academic performance, due to better endurance and stamina for a full day of school work.
2-Improved strength, balance and coordination for better engagement in peer activities at school.
3. Decrease tripping, falling and clumsiness.
4-Improved body awareness and attention while engage in an age appropriate movement activity.
5- Improved posture and body mechanics while engage in sitting, standing and overall movement activities.

Available Classes
  • Baby Prep Class : The class will focus on helping the baby increase the fluency of movement of his/her overall body in order to correct the head positioning and flattening as well as advance through the different developmental gross motor milestones. We use a whole body approach to the correction of these problems. The class will not just be great for the babies, but will help the parents develop a support system in within their community
  • Gross Motor Skills Class: This is a developmental gross motor class for the young child between 2 and 5 years of age.  This class will help strengthen developmental skills, balance, coordination, overall strength and structured play, as well as prepare the children physically for engagement in a daily routine at a pre-school and/or a sport.
  • Physically Fit Kids: This is a pediatric exercise class for children between 5 and 12 years old. The classes will help your child improve strength, endurance capacity, coordination, balance and overall agility for daily activities, community engagement and/or participation in sports.
  • Independence Program: This is an intensive program for children with cerebral palsy and/or any other movement dysfunction/difficulty. The program helps strengthen and progress mobility and independent skills for the child's age.
  • Classes are given through the year by appointment only
The classes are led by Dr. Karen L. Crilly who is a doctor of physical therapy.  She will assure that the children's individual physical developmental needs are being met. Prior to entering the classes she will conduct a FREE screen to determine which areas will be target through the time your child participates from our program.
